Power and Authority

In this book, the Author describes the oppressive dynamics of power and the formative capacity of authority. These two terms have been erroneously used as interchangeable ones. In this perspective, an essential clarification is needed, aiming to analyze the most relevant studies in the fields of modern and classic Sociology.

Franco Ferrarotti is an emeritus professor of Sociology at “La Sapienza” University in Rome, he founded the journal “Quaderni di Sociologia” in 1951, and he currently runs the journal “La critica sociologica”.
